    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Cenikor Foundation is one of the country's
    1-3  largest nonprofit organizations dedicated to teaching people with
    1-4  substance abuse problems to develop the skills necessary to enable
    1-5  them to live a drug-free life; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Drug addiction is a debilitating disease that
    1-7  destroys individuals, families, companies, homes, and nations; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Cenikor was established in Denver, Colorado, in 1967;
    1-9  it supplies a complete two to three year program for women and men,
   1-10  18 years old or older, whose lives have become unmanageable because
   1-11  of substance abuse; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Cenikor provides programs for participants designed
   1-13  to help them develop the work ethic, gain academic and vocational
   1-14  training, learn to care for others, and become responsible for
   1-15  themselves; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The Cenikor Foundation operates without government
   1-17  funding and receives support from Texas foundations, corporations,
   1-18  and individuals; it is truly deserving of legislative recognition;
   1-19  now, therefore, be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-21  73rd Legislature, hereby commend and applaud the Cenikor Foundation
   1-22  for its 25 years of meritorious service and dedication to its
   1-23  clients; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-2  Cenikor Foundation as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
