No. 268 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 recognize Sergeant Lewis Jackson who recently received the Navasota 1-4 Police Department's community service award; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Presented at the department's seventh annual 1-6 "Let's Get Acquainted" banquet on January 21, 1993, the award cited 1-7 Sergeant Jackson's outstanding work for the community; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A six-year veteran of the Navasota Police 1-9 Department, the exceptional officer is dedicated to various projects 1-10 involving the youth of Navasota; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Vitally interested in the welfare and progress of 1-12 young people, Sergeant Jackson has volunteered his time and energies 1-13 to help them become better citizens; and 1-14 WHEREAS, His meritorious work and exemplary devotion to 1-15 his community have earned him the appreciation and high regard of 1-16 the entire department; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-18 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Sergeant Lewis Jackson for his 1-19 contributions to the citizens of Navasota; and, be it further 1-20 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be presented to 1-21 the noteworthy officer as an expression of the admiration of the 1-22 Texas Senate. 1-23 _____________________________________ 2-1 President of the Senate 2-2 I hereby certify that the 2-3 above Resolution was adopted by 2-4 the Senate on February 22, 1993. 2-5 _____________________________________ 2-6 Secretary of the Senate 2-7 _____________________________________ 2-8 Member, Texas Senate
