    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
    1-3  pleasure in commending the Maass family, current owners of
    1-4  Mass Dairy in Brenham, Texas; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, On Friday, January 15, 1993, the Texas Department
    1-6  of Agriculture honored the Maass family and Mass Dairy, which was
    1-7  founded in 1883 by F. Spitzer, at the Texas Family Land Heritage
    1-8  ceremony; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The ceremony was a tribute to those Texans whose
   1-10  farms and ranches have remained in their families for the last 100
   1-11  years; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Respected leaders in the community, members of the
   1-13  Spitzer and Maass family have made significant contributions to
   1-14  agriculture in the State of Texas by practicing and promoting the
   1-15  most advanced methods of soil and water conservation; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Distinguished and hardworking, they have set an
   1-17  outstanding example for other Texans to follow and have played a
   1-18  major role in the betterment of the Brenham community and
   1-19  Washington County; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, The members of the family have received well-deserved
   1-21  acclaim for their continued efforts to preserve the state's natural
   1-22  resources and to protect the environment and the beauty of the land;
   1-23  now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to the members of
    2-3  the Spitzer and Maass family for their notable recognition by the
    2-4  Texas Department of Agriculture; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-6  Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Maass, owners of Mass Dairy, as an expression of
    2-7  the high regard of the Texas Senate.
