    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Gabriel Zipperlen
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  family and many friends of Gabriel Zipperlen in mourning his death
    1-7  on January 15, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born June 12, 1921, in Perry, Mr. Zipperlen lived
    1-9  most of his life in the Rosebud area; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, This illustrious civic leader was very active in all
   1-11  projects that improved and bettered Rosebud and was a member of the
   1-12  Rosebud Volunteer Fire Department; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mr. Zipperlen was a vigorous
   1-14  supporter of Saint Anne's Catholic Church and served on the
   1-15  building committee for the church and Saint Anne's Center; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Highly esteemed by his fellow citizens, Mr. Zipperlen
   1-17  was a tireless volunteer who was a former president of the Rosebud
   1-18  Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture, a Rosebud city councilman, and
   1-19  a director of the Woodland Cemetery Association; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, The owner of Rosebud Feed and Grain and Rosebud Plant
   1-21  Food, this respected gentleman's varied and notable accomplishments
   1-22  greatly contributed to the development and progress of his
   1-23  community; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Mr. Zipperlen's wise counsel and good judgment will
    2-2  be greatly missed and remembered with gratitude by those who lived
    2-3  and worked with him; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
    2-6  of his family:  his wife, Gladys; his son, Donald Zipperlen; his
    2-7  daughters, Marla Wallace and Jane Zipperlen; his sisters,
    2-8  Martha White and Emma Preston; and his grandchildren,
    2-9  Wyatt Zipperlen and Lindsay Zipperlen; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-11  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-12  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-13  in memory of Gabriel Zipperlen.
