No. 289 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Police Chief Stafford Bengtson who is retiring after 1-4 25 years of loyal service with the Taylor Police Department; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Beloved and respected by his colleagues, 1-6 Chief Bengtson is well known for his dedication to his profession 1-7 and for his superior courage and leadership; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Throughout his exceptional career, he 1-9 has manifested uncommon talent in managing the far-reaching 1-10 responsibilities of his position, and he is admired by citizens 1-11 across Williamson County for his hard work and perseverance; and 1-12 WHEREAS, An outstanding police officer and administrator, 1-13 Chief Bengtson has displayed expertise and sound judgment in 1-14 dealing with the unique challenges of law enforcement duty, and 1-15 his contributions to the people of Taylor have been innumerable; 1-16 and 1-17 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, 1-18 Chief Bengtson will be greatly missed by all who work at the 1-19 Taylor Police Department; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-21 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Chief Stafford Bengtson on 1-22 his superb career in law enforcement and extend best wishes to 1-23 him for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-2 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-3 _____________________________________ 2-4 President of the Senate 2-5 I hereby certify that the 2-6 above Resolution was adopted by 2-7 the Senate on February 22, 1993. 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Secretary of the Senate 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Member, Texas Senate
