    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  commend Linda McCalla for her notable involvement in Georgetown's
    1-4  Main Street Project; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Begun 10 years ago to beautify and restore downtown,
    1-6  the Main Street Project has enjoyed extraordinary success and is
    1-7  considered the model effort of main street preservation; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The city's first Main Street Coordinator,
    1-9  Linda McCalla brought together Georgetown's citizens and
   1-10  spearheaded the project by the sheer force of her personality;
   1-11  and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A superb organizer and tireless director,
   1-13  Linda persevered until the industrious undertaking was completed; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Highly recognized for her abilities and expertise,
   1-15  the civic-minded individual continues to be involved in almost every
   1-16  public venture; now, therefore, be it
   1-17        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-18  73rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Linda McCalla for being
   1-19  chosen for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Honor Roll and extend
   1-20  best wishes to her for continued success in all her endeavors; and,
   1-21  be it further
   1-22        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this
   1-23  esteemed lady as an expression of the admiration of the Texas Senate.
