    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize the faculty and staff of Felipe R. Perez Elementary
    1-4  School which has been serving the children of Brownsville for
    1-5  18 years; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The school employs 50 talented teachers and
    1-7  professionals, and the school and the community benefit from
    1-8  the wise leadership of Perez Elementary School's principal,
    1-9  Henry G. Kenneson, Jr.; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, Over the years, the school has consistently aimed
   1-11  at providing resources, programs, and experiences that would
   1-12  inspire excellence in student performance; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Today, the school is widely recognized as a
   1-14  first-rate institution with a sound academic curriculum and
   1-15  high-achieving students; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, Well known for their innovative programs, the
   1-17  faculty and administration have developed the first social skills
   1-18  classroom in the district for designated emotionally disturbed
   1-19  students; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, The school's professionals also deserve to be
   1-21  proud of their exceptional writing program and their effective
   1-22  whole language approach to learning; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Teachers, staff, and administrators at Perez
    2-1  Elementary School have consistently demonstrated exceptional
    2-2  dedication to their students and to their work in the field of
    2-3  education; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Felipe R. Perez Elementary School
    2-6  for the high standards the school upholds and for the excellent
    2-7  educational opportunities it provides the community; and, be it
    2-8  further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-10  the school as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
