    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, A superb educator, Jane Hill is the recipient of
    1-3  the 1993 Distinguished Teaching Award at the elementary level
    1-4  presented by the National Science Teachers Association; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Jane Hill has brought a sense of tremendous pride
    1-6  to teachers and citizens throughout the State of Texas who share
    1-7  in the excitement and happiness of her recent achievement; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Only one teacher won the award throughout the
    1-9  nation on the elementary, middle school, high school, and
   1-10  undergraduate college levels; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, The prestigious award is given to those "who have
   1-12  made extraordinary contributions to the field of science teaching";
   1-13  and
   1-14        WHEREAS, An inspiring and gifted educator, Jane Hill has
   1-15  captured the imagination and attention of her students through her
   1-16  ability to motivate her students and her proficiency in science and
   1-17  science education; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The exceptional teacher has taught fifth-grade
   1-19  science at Northside Elementary School in Angleton for three years
   1-20  and has 23 years of teaching experience; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, An exemplary role model, she guides her young
   1-22  pupils with firmness, fairness, and love; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, The highly acclaimed educator recently received
    2-1  two other notable awards; she was named state winner of the Texas
    2-2  Medical Association's Award for Excellence in Science Teaching and
    2-3  the Angleton Independent School District Teacher of the Year; now,
    2-4  therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED,  That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Jane Hill for her meritorious
    2-7  service to the students of Northside Elementary School and the
    2-8  Angleton Independent School District and express its congratulations
    2-9  to her on her much deserved honor; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
   2-11  as an expression of the admiration and best wishes for the future
   2-12  from the Texas Senate.
