No. 331 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Fifty-six years ago, on February 20, 1937, 1-3 Aubrey Doughtie and Clara Walker placed great faith and trust in 1-4 the future and they have been amply rewarded as they recently 1-5 celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the 1-7 years of their marriage yet Mr. and Mrs. Doughtie have steadfastly 1-8 embraced traditional family and moral values; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their 1-10 love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and 1-11 sorrows of everyday living; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Doughtie have been blessed with a 1-13 wonderful family; their children, Mary Nell Gray and 1-14 James Clayton Doughtie, and their four grandchildren and five 1-15 great-grandchildren have been a source of much pride and joy; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Clara and Aubrey Doughtie are exemplary citizens 1-17 who are active with their church and family; they devote time and 1-18 energy managing a small herd of cattle and faithfully tend an 1-19 annual vegetable garden; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Doughtie shared their happiness with 1-21 their family and friends at a family dinner on February 20, 1993; 1-22 and 1-23 WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Doughtie 2-1 is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 2-4 Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Doughtie on their 56th wedding anniversary; 2-5 and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-7 this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 2-8 their lives. 2-9 _____________________________________ 2-10 President of the Senate 2-11 I hereby certify that the 2-12 above Resolution was adopted by 2-13 the Senate on March 1, 1993. 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Secretary of the Senate 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Member, Texas Senate
