    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  recognize Valentina Thurman who was selected "Youth Citizen of
    1-4  the Year" by the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce at their annual
    1-5  banquet on February 5, 1993; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Drum Major of the Groesbeck High School Band,
    1-7  Miss Thurman was cited for her kindness toward others and for
    1-8  her top citizenship in school endeavors; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Ray Thurman,
   1-10  Valentina ranks near the top of her class, which graduates this
   1-11  year; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Taking an active interest in her community,
   1-13  Miss Thurman is a class officer, and a member of the student
   1-14  council; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, This extraordinarily capable young woman is
   1-16  clearly such an asset to her community that Groesbeck is lucky
   1-17  to have her as a citizen; now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-19  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Valentina Thurman for being
   1-20  selected "Youth Citizen of the Year" by the Groesbeck Chamber of
   1-21  Commerce and extend best wishes to her for future success; and,
   1-22  be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-1  Valentina Thurman as a memento of this special occasion from the
    2-2  Texas Senate.
