No. 374 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Maria Magdalena Saenz 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the 1-6 citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of 1-7 Maria Magdalena Saenz who died February 16, 1993; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A loving wife and mother, Mrs. Saenz was devoted 1-9 to her husband and two sons; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Respected in the community for her many 1-11 accomplishments, Maria Saenz was an exemplary lady; and 1-12 WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity, 1-13 she gave unselfishly of her time to others; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Saenz was a member of 1-15 Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Her wisdom, warm spirit, and valued counsel will 1-17 not be forgotten by those who knew her; and 1-18 WHEREAS, A cherished companion, she leaves behind memories 1-19 that will be treasured forever by her family and many friends; 1-20 now, therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-22 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved 1-23 family of Maria Magdalena Saenz: her husband, Preston Saenz; her 2-1 sons, Preston Saenz, Jr., and Richard Saenz; her sisters and 2-2 brothers-in-law, Manuela C. and Angel Navarro and 2-3 Anna Maria and Michael Perez; and her brothers and sister-in-law, 2-4 Juan Heleodoro and Amelia Cavazos and Hector Cavazos; and, be it 2-5 further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-7 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-8 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-9 in memory of Maria Magdalena Saenz. 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the 2-13 above Resolution was adopted by 2-14 the Senate on March 8, 1993, 2-15 by a rising vote. 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 _____________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
