    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                          Dixon Spurlock Cuny
    1-5        WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Dixon Spurlock Cuny
    1-6  mourned his death on February 15, 1993; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Born in Hempstead on July 11, 1896, Mr. Cuny was a
    1-8  graduate of Hempstead schools; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A true patriot, Mr. Cuny served in the
   1-10  United States Navy in World War I; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A former county clerk of Waller County for 43 years,
   1-12  Mr. Cuny began his career of public service in 1932 and retired in
   1-13  1976; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Well known for his civic activities, Mr. Cuny was
   1-15  presented with the Liberty Bell award in 1989; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A dedicated and diligent public servant, Mr. Cuny
   1-17  left a lasting standard for others to follow; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and good judgment will be greatly
   1-19  missed and remembered with gratitude by those whose lives he
   1-20  touched; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-22  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
   1-23  of his family:  his wife, Billie; his niece, Jo Ann Miles; and his
    2-1  nephew, Tom M. Cuny, Jr.; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-3  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
    2-4  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
    2-5  in memory of Dixon Spurlock Cuny.
