    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Anna B. Dempsey
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  citizens of Frankston, Texas, in mourning the loss of
    1-7  Anna B. Dempsey who died January 12, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The daughter of Grant A. and Bessie Hill Turner,
    1-9  Anna was born on June 4, 1932, in Charleston, West Virginia, and
   1-10  married Jack Dempsey on December 24, 1950; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Dempsey inspired
   1-12  the affection, confidence, and loyalty of all those around her;
   1-13  and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Her varied and notable contributions to the
   1-15  community enhanced the lives of others; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, She took an interest in the welfare and progress
   1-17  of the residents of the area through her work as a member of the
   1-18  Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and as secretary of the
   1-19  Lakeview Parent-Teacher Association and the Lakeview Volunteer
   1-20  Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A loyal friend and companion, Anna was known for
   1-22  her warmth, generosity, and courtesy; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, She was a dedicated and diligent worker who was
    2-1  employed for over 12 years with The Frankston Citizen before
    2-2  her retirement; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, A devout Christian who lived her faith in her
    2-4  daily life, Mrs. Dempsey was a member of the United Methodist
    2-5  Church of Frankston; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, The esteemed individual leaves a legacy of love
    2-7  and compassion that will live in the memories of all who were
    2-8  privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-10  73rd Legislature, hereby express sincere condolences to the
   2-11  family of Anna B. Dempsey:  her husband, Jack; her sons and
   2-12  daughters-in-law, Steve and Judy Dempsey and Craig and
   2-13  Darlene Dempsey; her daughters and sons-in-law, Niki and
   2-14  Mark Harris, Tami and John Brawner, and Vone Dempsey; her
   2-15  brothers, Davey Turner and Grant Turner; her sister,
   2-16  Emma McClure; and her seven grandchildren and five
   2-17  stepgrandchildren; and, be it further
   2-18        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-19  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-20  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
   2-21  day, it do so in memory of Anna B. Dempsey.
