    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Elton E. Robinson
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  family and many friends of Elton E. Robinson of Midway in mourning
    1-7  his death on February 15, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in the community of Pleasant Ridge on
    1-9  November 8, 1921, Colonel Robinson graduated from Leona High School
   1-10  in Leona, Texas, in 1939; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A true patriot, Elton Robinson began his career
   1-12  with the United States Army in January, 1941; he later transferred
   1-13  to the United States Army Air Corps in order to be trained as a
   1-14  bombardier; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, During his distinguished wartime service,
   1-16  Colonel Robinson flew 40 combat missions; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, While in the military service, Colonel Robinson
   1-18  advanced from the rank of private in the United States Army to the
   1-19  rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, After retiring from the United States Air Force
   1-21  in 1964, he worked for the United States Civil Service for several
   1-22  years; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Colonel Robinson was an active
    2-1  member of the Elwood Baptist Church; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and good judgment will be
    2-3  remembered with gratitude by those whose lives he touched; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, Colonel Robinson was unquestionably a man of high
    2-5  principles and integrity, and his passing is mourned by all who
    2-6  knew him; now, therefore, be it
    2-7        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-8  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
    2-9  of his family:  his wife, Dorothy; his son, Ray; his daughters,
   2-10  Marsha O'Banion and Kathy Smith; his sisters, Lyndell Hale,
   2-11  Lillian Pierce, and Ruth Pierce; his brothers, J. W. Robinson and
   2-12  Standley Robinson; and his seven grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-13        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-14  the family of Elton E. Robinson as an expression of regret from the
   2-15  Texas Senate.
