1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, The occasion of a 100th birthday is an exceptionally
1-3 splendid one and calls for great celebration, and so it was for
1-4 Mrs. B. A. Pollard of Gatesville, Texas, on February 28, 1993,
1-5 when she was the guest of honor on her special day; and
1-6 WHEREAS, Well known for her charm, genuineness, and
1-7 generosity of spirit, Mrs. Pollard is a revered resident of
1-8 Gatesville; and
1-9 WHEREAS, Blessed with a sweet smile and warm nature,
1-10 Mrs. Pollard is noted for her enviable calmness and serenity; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Born on March 2, 1893, in Gatesville, she has
1-12 lived in Coryell County all her life; she married Bud Pollard on
1-13 August 6, 1911, and the couple provided a loving home for their
1-14 five children, Maedell, Milton, Jo Ann, Billy, and Orvil; and
1-15 WHEREAS, The endearing memories of her long sojourn in
1-16 this world are evident as she recalls tales of years past;
1-17 Mrs. Pollard has earned respect and friendship from all who
1-18 know her; and
1-19 WHEREAS, Still a vital member of her community, Mrs. Pollard
1-20 is noted for her exemplary enthusiasm for living each day to the
1-21 fullest; and
1-22 WHEREAS, Friends and family members of this beloved matriarch
1-23 gathered at the Mountain Community Center on February 28, 1993, to
2-1 honor her in a manner best befitting the event; now, therefore, be it
2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-3 73rd Legislature, hereby declare Mrs. B. A. Pollard a treasured
2-4 citizen of her town and state, wishing her continued health and
2-5 happiness; and, be it further
2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to her as a
2-7 token of the esteem of the Texas Senate.
