No. 416 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Pilgrim's Pride Lufkin processing plant on the occasion 1-4 of its achieving a national record for no lost time accidents for 1-5 poultry slaughtering and processing; the Lufkin plant began efforts 1-6 to reach this goal on July 6, 1991; and 1-7 WHEREAS, The goal of injury-free operations has been 1-8 reached because of employee involvement and total management 1-9 participation; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The company's Modified Work Program received 1-11 valuable support from the medical community in Lufkin, which helped 1-12 make this milestone of over 2,830,000 man-hours without a lost time 1-13 accident possible; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The Pilgrim's Pride Lufkin processing plant has 1-15 797 employees; it is all the more remarkable that a group with so 1-16 many employees has set such a safety record; this is truly an effort 1-17 worthy of legislative recognition; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-19 73rd Legislature, hereby commend and congratulate the employees 1-20 of Pilgrim's Pride Lufkin processing plant for this remarkable 1-21 achievement in work place safety; and, be it further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-23 the plant as an expression of admiration from the Senate of Texas. 2-1 _____________________________________ 2-2 President of the Senate 2-3 I hereby certify that the 2-4 above Resolution was adopted by 2-5 the Senate on March 15, 1993. 2-6 _____________________________________ 2-7 Secretary of the Senate 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 Member, Texas Senate
