    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize New Direction Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, on
    1-4  the grand occasion of its dedication service for its church
    1-5  building which is being held March 28, 1993; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Since its establishment, New Direction Baptist
    1-7  Church has ministered faithfully to the spiritual needs of its
    1-8  members; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Due to the outstanding leadership of its pastor,
   1-10  Reverend Rivers R. Glover, Sr., the church has continued to grow
   1-11  and to undertake many worthy projects within the community; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, The New Direction Baptist Church has become an
   1-13  invaluable source of strength for church members during their
   1-14  hardships and in times of bereavement; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, The dedication of the church building is an
   1-16  opportunity to celebrate the church's enduring commitment to its
   1-17  holy mission and its advocacy of tradition and unity among
   1-18  Christians; now, therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-20  73rd Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the clergy and
   1-21  members of New Direction Baptist Church on the joyous occasion
   1-22  of the dedication of its church building; and, be it further
   1-23        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-1  the church as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
