    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
    1-3  pleasure in welcoming Angie Sisk, the reigning Miss Texas U.S.A.,
    1-4  to the City of Austin on March 22, 1993; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Crowned Miss Texas on July 21, 1992, in
    1-6  Corpus Christi, Miss Sisk has represented her state at numerous
    1-7  affairs and has hosted charitable events to benefit cystic fibrosis
    1-8  research, Special Olympics, and rain forest preservation; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The blond-haired beauty is a statuesque 26-year-old
   1-10  who was also selected "Swimsuit Winner" and "Miss Photogenic" to
   1-11  become the only contestant in the history of the pageant to win
   1-12  the three honors in the same year; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Representing her state at the Miss U.S.A. Pageant
   1-14  on February 19, 1993, Angie was chosen by the judges as one of the
   1-15  top finalists and reached the semi-final round of the prestigious
   1-16  contest, continuing the tradition established by former Miss Texas
   1-17  contestants; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, The daughter of Jack and Melba Sisk, Angie graduated
   1-19  from Taylor High School in Houston where she garnered other honors;
   1-20  she was voted homecoming queen and "Miss Taylor High School" by her
   1-21  peers; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Miss Sisk continued her education at
   1-23  Southwest Texas State University and Houston Baptist University
    2-1  before being selected Miss Texas U.S.A.; her career plans are
    2-2  focused on completing her studies in education after her year-long
    2-3  reign; and
    2-4        WHEREAS, In addition to her interest in furthering the
    2-5  education of young children, the charming and talented young lady
    2-6  enjoys sports, modeling, aerobics, and dancing; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, The citizens of Texas are truly fortunate to have
    2-8  such a lovely Texan as an ambassador of the Lone Star State; now,
    2-9  therefore, be it
   2-10        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-11  73rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Angie Sisk on being chosen
   2-12  Miss Texas U.S.A. and extend best wishes to her for future success
   2-13  in all her endeavors; and, be it further
   2-14        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-15  Miss Sisk as an expression of the admiration and appreciation of
   2-16  the Texas Senate.
