    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
    1-3  extend congratulations to the Boys & Girls Club organizations in
    1-4  Bryan-College Station on the observance of National Boys & Girls
    1-5  Club Week which will be held March 21 through March 27, 1993; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The Boys & Girls Clubs have positively influenced
    1-7  the lives of the young people who are members by encouraging,
    1-8  challenging, and broadening their experiences; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, The three Boys & Girls Clubs in Bryan-College Station
   1-10  have provided exceptional leadership for area teenagers; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Keeping our young citizens off the streets and
   1-12  supplying them with positive alternatives to dangerous activities
   1-13  is a primary goal of the Boys & Girls Clubs; they have succeeded
   1-14  admirably in their efforts; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Another important aim of the Boys & Girls Clubs
   1-16  is providing education about preventing teen substance abuse,
   1-17  sexual activity, and delinquency; these programs have been highly
   1-18  beneficial to young people; now, therefore, be it
   1-19        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-20  73rd Legislature, hereby commend and congratulate the Boys & Girls
   1-21  Clubs on their superb efforts to promote and strengthen their
   1-22  organizations as they observe National Boys & Girls Club Week; and,
   1-23  be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-2  Boys & Girls Clubs in Bryan-College Station as an expression of
    2-3  esteem from the Texas Senate.
