No. 436 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Bill Haak for his 41 years of loyal service with the 1-4 Waller County Road and Bridge Department; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Bill Haak began his successful career with the county 1-6 when he was hired by former Precinct 3 Commissioner Guy Pattison 1-7 in 1951; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Hardworking and talented, he joined the department 1-9 as a member of the Bridge Crew and quickly learned to operate a 1-10 bulldozer and a motor grader; he soon began building and maintaining 1-11 the roads of Precinct 3; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Bill Haak became an expert in his field and 12 years 1-13 ago was promoted to the position of foreman of Precinct 3; in 1990, 1-14 he became a general foreman responsible for both precincts 2 and 3; 1-15 and 1-16 WHEREAS, He became well known for the superior skills he 1-17 developed in blacktopping roads, and during his career he generously 1-18 helped others outside of the county to learn the blacktop resurfacing 1-19 technique; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Since joining the county's Road and Bridge 1-21 Department, Bill Haak has consistently manifested dedication to 1-22 his work and to the people of Waller County, and his presence with 1-23 the department will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Bill Haak for his many years of 2-3 distinguished public service in Waller County and extend best wishes 2-4 to him for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-6 as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-7 _____________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the 2-10 above Resolution was adopted by 2-11 the Senate on March 16, 1993. 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
