    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Louise P. Dyer
    1-5        WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Louise P. Dyer mourn
    1-6  the loss of this beloved native Texan who died February 27, 1993;
    1-7  and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in Navasota on October 15, 1908, Mrs. Dyer
    1-9  was the daughter of Louis Schaefer and Mary McGinty Pierce; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Dyer was an active member
   1-11  of the First Baptist Church; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Her social activities included memberships in
   1-13  the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the
   1-14  Republic of Texas; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A remarkable Texas woman, she knew all the joys
   1-16  and sorrows of a full lifetime of 84 years; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, First and foremost a devoted wife and mother,
   1-18  Mrs. Dyer leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, During her lifetime she established a permanent
   1-20  place for herself in the hearts of those who lived and worked with
   1-21  her; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Her genuine warmth and good humor will be missed
   1-23  by her many friends; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
    2-3  members of her family:  her daughter, Mary Kathryn Upchurch;
    2-4  her son, Jack P. Dyer; her sister, Kathryn Crane; her brothers,
    2-5  Breard A. Pierce and G. Schaefer Pierce; and her five grandchildren
    2-6  and one great-granddaughter; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-8  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
    2-9  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it
   2-10  do so in memory of Louise P. Dyer.
