1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 In Memory
1-3 of
1-4 Janet Scoggin
1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
1-6 citizens of Lubbock in mourning the loss of Janet Scoggin who
1-7 died March 7, 1993; and
1-8 WHEREAS, Born in Fort Worth, she moved with her parents to
1-9 Lubbock in 1918; and
1-10 WHEREAS, She graduated from Lubbock High School and attended
1-11 Texas Tech University; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Her life work as a homemaker showed diligence and
1-13 dedication; and
1-14 WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Janet Scoggin was respected in
1-15 the community for her many accomplishments; and
1-16 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she was a member of the
1-17 First Church of Christ, Scientist; and
1-18 WHEREAS, Her wise counsel and good judgment will be greatly
1-19 missed by all who knew her; now, therefore, be it
1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-21 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to her
1-22 bereaved family: her husband, John Scoggin; her daughters,
1-23 Lou Frame and Ann Zwiacher; her brother, W. C. Barnett, Jr.;
2-1 her sister, Dorothy Kelley; and her two grandchildren; and, be
2-2 it further
2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-4 the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
2-5 from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
2-6 it do so in memory of Janet Scoggin.
