    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, It is a distinct privilege and pleasure for the
    1-3  Texas Senate to recognize the members of the legislative and
    1-4  governmental affairs division of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce
    1-5  for their superb work in helping to create and maintain a positive
    1-6  business climate in the Deer Park community; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Since its establishment in 1959, the Deer Park
    1-8  Chamber of Commerce has worked closely with industry, local
    1-9  government, and the school district to integrate resources,
   1-10  educate and encourage local businesses, and promote a positive
   1-11  image of Deer Park; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Working closely with government agencies and
   1-13  officials at the local, state, and federal levels, the legislative
   1-14  affairs committee is an articulate voice and well-informed liaison
   1-15  for the members of the chamber with regard to discussion of
   1-16  legislative issues affecting local business and civic affairs; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, This fine group of civic leaders represents the
   1-18  most positive and progressive aspects of the Deer Park business
   1-19  community, and it is indeed appropriate that its members be honored
   1-20  for their outstanding services performed on behalf of the
   1-21  City of Deer Park; now, therefore, be it
   1-22        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of the Texas,
   1-23  73rd Legislature, hereby commend the legislative and governmental
    2-1  affairs division of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce for its
    2-2  exemplary efforts on behalf of the citizens of Deer Park and
    2-3  welcome a delegation of its members to the Capitol on
    2-4  March 23, 1993, as part of their Legislative Day observance; and,
    2-5  be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-7  the members of the legislative and governmental affairs division
    2-8  of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce as a memento of their visit
    2-9  to Austin and as an expression of high esteem from the Texas Senate.
