    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Alicia G. Cavazos
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  citizens of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Alicia G. Cavazos
    1-7  who died February 19, 1993, at the age of 50; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in Harlingen, Mrs. Cavazos lived in
    1-9  Brownsville all of her life; she graduated from Brownsville High
   1-10  School and earned a degree in education from Pan American University
   1-11  in 1985; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Alicia married Oscar E. Cavazos and the devoted
   1-13  couple provided a loving home for their children, Michelle and
   1-14  Stephen; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, Mrs. Cavazos was a dedicated and diligent educator
   1-16  who taught for several years in the Brownsville Independent School
   1-17  District where she earned the admiration and respect of all those
   1-18  with whom she was associated; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, A warm and caring individual, Mrs. Cavazos took
   1-20  a lively interest in the community as a member of Kappa Delta Pi,
   1-21  Sharp Elementary Parent-Teacher Association, and the
   1-22  Mr. and Mrs. Club of Brownsville; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, The devout Christian, who was a member of
    2-1  Saint Luke Catholic Church, lived her faith in her daily life; and
    2-2        WHEREAS, She leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
    2-3  that will be remembered with gratitude by all who were fortunate
    2-4  enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
    2-5        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-6  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
    2-7  of her family:  her husband, Oscar; her daughter,
    2-8  Michelle Cavazos-Cano; her son, Stephen Cavazos; her sister,
    2-9  Norma Zamora; her granddaughter, Destiny Jade Cano; and her nieces
   2-10  and nephews; and, be it further
   2-11        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-12  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
   2-13  the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
   2-14  so in memory of Alicia G. Cavazos.
