    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Gary D. Tidwell
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  City of Lubbock in mourning the death of Gary D. Tidwell who died
    1-7  March 15, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born in Winfield, Mr. Tidwell attended Kilgore Junior
    1-9  College and moved to Lubbock in 1955; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, He married Yvonne Ham in Amarillo on
   1-11  February 25, 1961; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, This enterprising businessman worked for Bingo's BBQ
   1-13  before opening Gary's Super Dog Drive-In and Gary's Frozen Foods;
   1-14  Gary's Super Dogs, Gary's Corn Dogs, and Gary's Bar-B-Que are well
   1-15  known throughout Texas and New Mexico; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mr. Tidwell was a member of the
   1-17  First Assembly of God Church where he taught Sunday School and was
   1-18  a deacon; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, This respected gentleman's varied and notable
   1-20  achievements contributed greatly to the development and progress of
   1-21  his community; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Mr. Tidwell's wise counsel and good judgment will be
   1-23  greatly missed and remembered with gratitude by those who lived and
    2-1  worked with him; now, therefore, be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-3  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
    2-4  of his family:  his wife, Yvonne; his son, Gary D. "Buddy" Tidwell;
    2-5  his daughter, Kim Tidwell; his mother, Bertie Lee Tidwell; his
    2-6  brother, Tony Tidwell; and his sister, Delores Tatkenhorst; and, be
    2-7  it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-9  members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-10  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-11  in memory of Gary D. Tidwell.
