    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                            Harold R. Hamm
    1-5        WHEREAS, The death of Harold R. Hamm of South Plains, Texas,
    1-6  on March 6, 1993, at the age of 79, was greatly mourned by the
    1-7  residents of the area; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A respected member of his community, Mr. Hamm will
    1-9  be remembered for his devotion to his family, his friends, and his
   1-10  church; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A native of Paris, Arkansas, Mr. Hamm was born on
   1-12  October 27, 1913, and married Mildred Teeple on July 3, 1932, in
   1-13  Clovis, New Mexico; the devoted couple provided a loving home for
   1-14  their four daughters; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, During World War II Harold Hamm served his country
   1-16  with valor in the United States Army; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Mr. Hamm was an industrious and successful farmer
   1-18  who also managed Merriman's Fine Foods grocery in Amarillo for
   1-19  several years; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, The esteemed gentleman was a devout Christian who
   1-21  practiced his faith in his daily life and was an active member of
   1-22  South Plains Baptist Church; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, He leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
    2-1  that will remain cherished by those who lived and worked with him;
    2-2  now, therefore, be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
    2-5  members of Harold R. Hamm:  his wife, Mildred; his daughters,
    2-6  Annelda Staples, Haroldene Aufdemorte, Jeaneva Huff, and
    2-7  Arlaine Berkes; and his eight grandchildren; and, be it further
    2-8        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-9  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-10  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-11  it do so in memory of Harold R. Hamm.
