No. 520 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 recognize Marilyn Lancaster for her significant contributions 1-4 to the teaching profession in her role as President of the 1-5 Texas Junior College Teachers Association; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The Texas Junior College Teachers Association is 1-7 the largest organization of postsecondary educators in Texas; 1-8 due to Ms. Lancaster's effectiveness, the Texas Junior College 1-9 Teachers Association has reached a record membership of more than 1-10 6,300 persons; members are drawn from every technical, junior, 1-11 and community college in Texas; and 1-12 WHEREAS, An outstanding leader, Ms. Lancaster has ably 1-13 served as president of this distinguished group; and 1-14 WHEREAS, A highly respected woman in her field, 1-15 Marilyn Lancaster has been a capable and quietly effective 1-16 administrator during her year as President of the Texas Junior 1-17 College Teachers Association; and 1-18 WHEREAS, She has carried out her duties with integrity 1-19 and fairness while earning the respect and admiration of her 1-20 colleagues; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Through her achievements and abilities, 1-22 Marilyn Lancaster has contributed greatly to her profession and 1-23 the postsecondary educational system in this state; now, therefore, 2-1 be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 73rd Legislature, hereby commend Marilyn Lancaster for her 2-4 meritorious service as President of the Texas Junior College 2-5 Teachers Association; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-7 her as an expression of appreciation from the Texas Senate. 2-8 _____________________________________ 2-9 President of the Senate 2-10 I hereby certify that the 2-11 above Resolution was adopted by 2-12 the Senate on March 30, 1993. 2-13 _____________________________________ 2-14 Secretary of the Senate 2-15 _____________________________________ 2-16 Member, Texas Senate
