No. 533 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, Dorothy Elaine Gillis Lindsey is celebrating her 1-3 65th birthday on April 4, 1993, and the Texas Senate is pleased 1-4 to congratulate her on this memorable occasion; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A warm and personable individual, Mrs. Lindsey has 1-6 earned the respect and friendship of all those who have known and 1-7 worked with her through the years; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Born on April 4, 1928, to Willie Mae Vaughn Gillis 1-9 and James Arthur Gillis, Dorothy is the youngest of 10 children; 1-10 and 1-11 WHEREAS, A dedicated and gifted teacher, Dorothy taught 1-12 mathematics in the public school system for 25 years; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A wonderful wife and mother, Dorothy married 1-14 Steve Lindsey and together the devoted couple provided a loving 1-15 home for their children, Linda, Larry, Becky, and Mardie; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Recognized for her ability to cope with difficult 1-17 situations and to survive hard times, Dorothy is noted for her 1-18 exemplary enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; and 1-19 WHEREAS, This gracious lady is well known for her charm, 1-20 genuineness, and generosity of spirit; she is deeply loved by her 1-21 husband and children; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 73rd Legislature, hereby declare Dorothy Elaine Gillis Lindsey a 2-1 treasured citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more 2-2 years of health and happiness; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-4 Dorothy as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-5 _____________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the 2-8 above Resolution was adopted by 2-9 the Senate on April 1, 1993. 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
