                                   SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-1        WHEREAS, Located in Covington, Texas, in Hill County, County
    1-2  Road 193 is over 50 years old; and
    1-3        WHEREAS, Approximately three miles long and made of gravel
    1-4  and dirt, the road is traveled 24 hours a day by dairy and feed
    1-5  trucks delivering over 200,000 pounds of milk and over 400,000
    1-6  pounds of feed each day; and
    1-7        WHEREAS, Six of the largest dairy farms in  Hill County are
    1-8  located on County Road 193, and some of these farms operate 24
    1-9  hours a day; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, The condition of the road is such that after a
   1-11  rainstorm it becomes a hazard preventing county residents and
   1-12  economically vital dairy and feed trucks from traveling it because
   1-13  of holes and mud; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The closure of the road works a severe economic
   1-15  hardship on the dairy farmers of Hill County; now, therefore, be it
   1-16        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 73rd
   1-17  Legislature, hereby request the Texas Department of Transportation
   1-18  to designate County Road 193 as a farm-to-market road and to make
   1-19  all necessary repairs.
