No. 540 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, It is indeed an honor for the Senate of the 1-3 State of Texas to recognize the Honorable Bill Logue on his 1-4 selection as Baylor Lawyer of the Year for 1993; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Judge of the 19th District Court, the esteemed 1-6 jurist has faithfully served the City of Waco with unfailing 1-7 dedication and integrity all of his professional life; and 1-8 WHEREAS, An outstanding citizen, a fine man, and a highly 1-9 capable public servant, Judge Logue was chosen for the award in 1-10 recognition of the honor and distinction he has brought to the 1-11 legal profession and to Baylor Law School; and 1-12 WHEREAS, His gracious manner and his legal ability have 1-13 earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Judge Logue has freely given of his time and 1-15 energies to community affairs while serving as president of the 1-16 Waco Rotary Club, the Heart O'Texas Lions Club, the Waco Young 1-17 Men's Christian Association Board, the McLennan County Chapter 1-18 of the American Cancer Society, the Woodland Springs Home for 1-19 Aged, and the McLennan County Tuberculosis Association; and 1-20 WHEREAS, As both a district judge and juvenile judge since 1-21 1961, Bill Logue has been recognized by numerous organizations for 1-22 his invaluable work with the youth of the county; and 1-23 WHEREAS, He received the First Annual Charles O. Betts 2-1 Award for Excellence as a Juvenile Court Judge from the Texas 2-2 Institute on Children and Youth in 1977, the First Annual Bill Logue 2-3 McLennan County Youth Collaboration Lifetime Achievement Award in 2-4 1993, and the Texas Juvenile Detention Association Award for service 2-5 and dedication to the youth of Texas in 1993; he served as Chairman 2-6 of the Juvenile Court Judges of the State Bar of Texas in 1977, 2-7 1984, and 1986; and 2-8 WHEREAS, For his splendid work Judge Logue is truly 2-9 deserving of the admiration and confidence of those with whom he 2-10 is associated; the McLennan County Commissioners Court named the 2-11 juvenile detention facility Bill Logue Juvenile Center as a fitting 2-12 tribute to this remarkable Texas gentleman who has given so much of 2-13 himself to the citizens of Central Texas; and 2-14 WHEREAS, Throughout his remarkable career, Judge Logue has 2-15 been strengthened by the love and support of his gracious wife, 2-16 Gloria, and their four daughters, Linda, Sharon, Katherine, and 2-17 Margaret; now, therefore, be it 2-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-19 73rd Legislature, hereby commend the Honorable Bill Logue for his 2-20 exceptional accomplishments and express its appreciation to him 2-21 for his contributions to the lives of others; and, be it further 2-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-23 him as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. 2-24 _____________________________________ 2-25 President of the Senate 3-1 I hereby certify that the 3-2 above Resolution was adopted by 3-3 the Senate on April 1, 1993. 3-4 _____________________________________ 3-5 Secretary of the Senate 3-6 _____________________________________ 3-7 Member, Texas Senate
