    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                         Grace I. Stubblefield
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with
    1-6  the citizens of Williamson County in mourning the loss of
    1-7  Grace I. Stubblefield who died March 10, 1993; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born August 6, 1910, in Rockhouse Community
    1-9  near Liberty Hill, Grace Stubblefield was the daughter of
   1-10  Robert Zebulon and Minerva Swindle Baker, both early
   1-11  Williamson County settlers; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Formerly a Fort Stockton resident, she lived
   1-13  in Georgetown, Texas, for the last 37 years of her life; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, In 1936, she married Miller Adam Stubblefield
   1-15  who preceded her in death on January 18, 1956; as a young widow,
   1-16  she raised three children successfully and later helped her son,
   1-17  District Judge Billy Ray Stubblefield, with his campaigns; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, Dedicated to her work, she served as a
   1-19  receptionist at the Wesleyan Nursing Home for many years; she
   1-20  also enjoyed numerous hobbies including sewing, knitting, and
   1-21  singing; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, Respected in the community for her many
   1-23  accomplishments, Grace Stubblefield was an exemplary lady who
    2-1  was a source of strength to many and who lived a life of high
    2-2  moral principles; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, She was a woman of integrity, enthusiasm, compassion,
    2-4  and generosity who gave unselfishly of her time to others; and
    2-5        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Grace Stubblefield was a member
    2-6  of Florence Primitive Baptist Church; and
    2-7        WHEREAS, Mrs. Stubblefield's wisdom, warm spirit, and valued
    2-8  counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and
    2-9        WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife and mother, and she leaves
   2-10  behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and
   2-11  many friends; now, therefore, be it
   2-12        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-13  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to
   2-14  the bereaved family of Grace I. Stubblefield:  her sons,
   2-15  Don A. Stubblefield and Billy Ray Stubblefield; her daughter,
   2-16  Betty Lebo; her granddaughter, Angela Michelle Lebo; her sisters,
   2-17  Florence Day, Emilee Love, and Clara Chance; and her sister-in-law,
   2-18  Leah Baker; and, be it further
   2-19        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-20  the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-21  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
   2-22  day, it do so in memory of Grace I. Stubblefield.
