    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Fifty years ago, on March 27, 1943,
    1-3  Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Smith of Admiral placed great faith and trust
    1-4  in the future and they have been amply rewarded as they recently
    1-5  celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during their
    1-7  marriage yet Mr. and Mrs. Smith have steadfastly embraced traditional
    1-8  family and moral values; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Over the years, Thelma and Wendell have grown
   1-10  stronger in their love and devotion as together they have experienced
   1-11  the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have been blessed with a wonderful
   1-13  family:  their children, Teddy and Ann, and their grandchildren; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Smith shared their happiness with their
   1-15  family and friends at a gathering hosted by their children on
   1-16  March 28, 1993, at the First Baptist Church fellowship hall; now,
   1-17  therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-19  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
   1-20  Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Smith on their golden wedding anniversary; and,
   1-21  be it further
   1-22        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this
   1-23  distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their lives.
