    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Paul D. Lack of Abilene, Texas, was recently
    1-3  selected as a recipient of the 1992 T. R. Fehrenbach Book Award
    1-4  by the Texas Historical Commission, and the Texas Senate is pleased
    1-5  to extend congratulations to him for this important achievement; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, One of the state's most respected and prestigious
    1-7  writing competitions, the T. R. Fehrenbach Book Award was named for
    1-8  noted historian and Texas Historical Commission member
    1-9  T. R. Fehrenbach of San Antonio and is cosponsored by the Texas
   1-10  Historical Commission and The Dow Chemical Company; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Mr. Lack will receive $1,000 and a bronze plaque
   1-12  at the Texas Historical Commission's preservation conference to be
   1-13  held in Austin on April 29 through May 1, 1993, in recognition of
   1-14  his book entitled The Texas Revolutionary Experience:  A Political
   1-15  and Social History, 1835-1836; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, The book was cited for its quality of writing and
   1-17  bibliography; its context and concept are thoughtfully presented to
   1-18  the reader; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Paul D. Lack has contributed to the preservation
   1-20  of Texas history through his respect for historical accuracy and
   1-21  excellent use of source materials; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, The State of Texas is fortunate to have among its
   1-23  citizens such a dedicated and gifted artist; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Paul D. Lack for receiving the
    2-3  1992 T. R. Fehrenbach Book Award and extend best wishes to him in
    2-4  his future endeavors; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-6  him as a memento of this outstanding accomplishment and as an
    2-7  expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
