    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The occasion of an 89th birthday is an
    1-3  exceptionally splendid one and calls for great celebration, and so it
    1-4  was for Kittie McKee Nelson of Lewisville, Texas, on April 20, 1993,
    1-5  when she was the guest of honor on her special day; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Well known for her charm, genuineness, and generosity
    1-7  of spirit, this gracious lady is a revered resident of the city; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, Born on April 20, 1904, in Holland, Texas, Kittie
    1-9  married Hubert Nelson on October 6, 1928, and the couple provided a
   1-10  loving home for their two sons, James and Ronald; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Hubert and Kittie farmed and ranched in the county
   1-12  and were active in the Farm Bureau; Kittie served on the Women's
   1-13  State Board of the Farm Bureau from 1956 to 1963; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Still an active and vital member of the community,
   1-15  Mrs. Nelson has served on the steering committee and as treasurer
   1-16  of the Lewisville Senior Citizens Center; she is a member of the
   1-17  Lewisville Area Republican Women and the Civic Action Ladies of
   1-18  Lewisville; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Kittie is noted for her exemplary enthusiasm for
   1-20  living each day to the fullest; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A charter member of the Creekwood Christian Church,
   1-22  Disciples of Christ, in Flower Mound, Texas, Kittie Nelson lives her
   1-23  faith in her daily life; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Mrs. Nelson is proud of her grandchildren, Michael,
    2-2  Spence, Sarah, Chris, and Eric, and her great-grandchildren, Brian,
    2-3  Elizabeth, Christina, Michelle, Jennifer, Jay, Scott, Jimmy, William,
    2-4  and Marcos, who are the source of much pleasure and interest; now,
    2-5  therefore, be it
    2-6        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-7  73rd Legislature, hereby declare Kittie McKee Nelson a treasured
    2-8  citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more years of health
    2-9  and happiness; and, be it further
   2-10        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-11  Mrs. Nelson as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
