No. 643 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize the professional auctioneers of our country for the 1-4 valuable services they provide through the auction industry; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The auction industry is a people-oriented profession 1-6 that benefits sellers and buyers of real estate and of personal and 1-7 business property; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Auctions provide a unique service because they 1-9 help establish a true market value for items being sold at any 1-10 given time; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Public auctions are excellent market places for 1-12 shopping, as buyers actually determine the final price and value 1-13 of the items purchased; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Professional auctioneers, the Texas Auctioneers 1-15 Association, and the National Auctioneers Association strengthen 1-16 and support the American free enterprise system; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Auctions have proven to be very effective in 1-18 helping to raise funds for nonprofit groups; every year there are 1-19 innumerable benefit auctions for charitable organizations, church 1-20 groups, educational institutions, and civic clubs; and 1-21 WHEREAS, The men and women who serve as professional 1-22 auctioneers, the Texas Auctioneers Association, and the 1-23 National Auctioneers Association are to be commended for their 2-1 dedication to the auction industry and to its improvement and 2-2 for their adherence to a strict code of ethics and high moral 2-3 principles; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 73rd Legislature, hereby express appreciation to the auctioneers 2-6 of Texas and the nation for their many contributions to the citizens 2-7 of our country; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be prepared for 2-9 the Texas Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers 2-10 Association as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-11 _____________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the 2-14 above Resolution was adopted by 2-15 the Senate on April 20, 1993. 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 _____________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
