    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Birthdays are occasions to be joyously celebrated,
    1-3  and so it was for Joe Cliett of San Marcos, when he was the guest
    1-4  of honor on his special day; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, This being his 90th birthday, he has been
    1-6  privileged to witness events most of us only read about in history
    1-7  books; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The blessings of his long sojourn in this world
    1-9  are evident as he recalls tales of years past; Mr. Cliett has
   1-10  earned respect and friendship from all who know him; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Still an active and vital member of his community,
   1-12  Mr. Cliett is noted for his exemplary enthusiasm for living each
   1-13  day to the fullest; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Friends and relatives of this beloved nonagenarian
   1-15  gathered at the Alpha Delta Pi house for a reception on
   1-16  April 4, 1993, to honor him in a manner best befitting the event;
   1-17  now, therefore, be it
   1-18        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-19  73rd Legislature, hereby declare J. Q. "Joe" Cliett a treasured
   1-20  citizen of his town and state, wishing him many more years of
   1-21  health and happiness; and, be it further
   1-22        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to
   1-23  Mr. Cliett as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
