No. 662 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas proudly 1-3 recognizes Reverend Weldon George Daniels for his 23 years of 1-4 loyal service as Pastor of the Pilgrim Valley Missionary Baptist 1-5 Church of Fort Worth, Texas; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels became pastor of Pilgrim Valley 1-7 Missionary Baptist Church in 1970 and has become well known for 1-8 his active involvement with the community and for his civic and 1-9 religious leadership; and 1-10 WHEREAS, He presently serves as Chairman of the 1-11 Civic Committee in the Baptist Minister's Union, a member 1-12 of the City of Fort Worth Ethics Committee, a member of the 1-13 Martin Luther King, Jr., Holiday Committee, and a first 1-14 vice-moderator of the Saint John Landmark District Association; 1-15 he is president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference-Fort 1-16 Worth Branch; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Over the last 23 years, Reverend Daniels has 1-18 ministered faithfully to the spiritual needs of innumerable 1-19 Christians; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Under Reverend Daniels's superior guidance, the 1-21 church has provided enlightenment, hope, and support to the 1-22 Fort Worth community; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Inspirational and caring, this beloved pastor has 2-1 dedicated his time and energy unselfishly to the members of his 2-2 church and the residents of Tarrant County; and 2-3 WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, 2-4 Reverend Daniels has performed countless ceremonies and has 2-5 prayed for and counselled his church members during their hardships 2-6 and in times of bereavement; and 2-7 WHEREAS, Many Tarrant County citizens are grateful for the 2-8 positive influence Reverend Daniels has had in their lives; now, 2-9 therefore, be it 2-10 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-11 73rd Legislature, hereby join with the members of Pilgrim Valley 2-12 Missionary Baptist Church in commending Reverend Weldon George Daniels 2-13 for his fervent service to the church, his fellowman, and the 2-14 community; and, be it further 2-15 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-16 as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-17 _____________________________________ 2-18 President of the Senate 2-19 I hereby certify that the 2-20 above Resolution was adopted by 2-21 the Senate on April 21, 1993. 2-22 _____________________________________ 2-23 Secretary of the Senate 2-24 _____________________________________ 2-25 Member, Texas Senate
