    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is highly
    1-3  pleased to recognize Max Thiele who was presented with a
    1-4  Meritorious Award by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce at
    1-5  its 39th annual banquet held on March 1, 1993; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce presents
    1-7  this award to an outstanding individual who is dedicated to the
    1-8  community, and Max Thiele is such a man; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mr. Thiele, who has been with Alcoa since 1963,
   1-10  is a member of the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce and the
   1-11  Rockdale Works Fire Department and has often worked in the
   1-12  concession stands at football games; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, For several years Max Thiele was the official tree
   1-14  pruner for the city park; he is an active member of Saint John
   1-15  Lutheran Church where he served on the church council as trustee
   1-16  and financial secretary; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, This public-spirited citizen joined the Thorndale
   1-18  Volunteer Fire Department in 1970 and has held the office of
   1-19  treasurer since 1976; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Since 1978, he has helped his wife with the
   1-21  Cookoff Parade and helps take the Thorndale float to out-of-town
   1-22  parades; truly such an individual is worthy of legislative
   1-23  recognition; now, therefore, be it
    2-1        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-2  73rd Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Max Thiele
    2-3  for earning the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce's Meritorious
    2-4  Award; and, be it further
    2-5        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-6  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
