    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The retirement of Harry Thompson on March 14, 1993,
    1-3  from the Edward D. Jones & Company investment firm brought to a
    1-4  close a career marked by exceptional service to the citizens of
    1-5  Palestine; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, As the firm's Palestine representative, Mr. Thompson
    1-7  spent 18 years helping clients plan for their future; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, The respected investor set a high standard of
    1-9  professionalism, inspiring others by his loyalty, dependability,
   1-10  and sound investment advice; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, Under his able leadership, the office staff handled
   1-12  the company's duties and responsibilities with efficiency and
   1-13  dedication to the people they so conscientiously serve; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, The conservative firm recommends only the
   1-15  highest-rated stocks, providing the people of Palestine with
   1-16  the best investments possible; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Although Mr. Thompson knows he will miss the friends
   1-18  who come to his office for advice, he is looking forward to spending
   1-19  more time with his wife and four children and with church activities;
   1-20  now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-22  73rd Legislature, hereby recognize Harry Thompson for his
   1-23  exceptional contributions to improving the lives of others;
    2-1  and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-3  this esteemed gentleman as an expression of the admiration and
    2-4  high regard of the Texas Senate.
