    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure
    1-3  in recognizing Mary Ann Rodenbeck who has been selected as
    1-4  Outstanding Citizen by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce
    1-5  and was honored at its 39th annual banquet; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Mary Ann Rodenbeck is well known for her outstanding
    1-7  work in the Thorndale community; and
    1-8        WHEREAS, A dedicated and active volunteer, she helped
    1-9  organize the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in 1963 and has
   1-10  served as its treasurer nearly every year; she is also one of 17
   1-11  ladies who just completed 96 quilts for Lutheran World Relief; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A highly respected leader who generously devotes
   1-13  time and energy to civic affairs, she also tends to her father's
   1-14  cattle on the farm, bakes loaves of bread, cakes, and meals, and is
   1-15  a volunteer worker at the Saint Vincent De Paul Store in Taylor; and
   1-16        WHEREAS, A devout Christian, her faith has been the
   1-17  primary motivating force of her life; she is a member of
   1-18  Saint John Lutheran Church; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, Mary Ann Rodenbeck's concern for others is
   1-20  legendary, and she has played a major role in the betterment
   1-21  of the Thorndale community; and
   1-22        WHEREAS, An exemplary lady, Mary Ann Rodenbeck is a source
   1-23  of strength to many and her amazing accomplishments reflect her
    2-1  dedication and her commitment to her fellowman; now, therefore,
    2-2  be it
    2-3        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-4  73rd Legislature, hereby commend Mary Ann Rodenbeck on her
    2-5  exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on
    2-6  her selection as Outstanding Citizen; and, be it further
    2-7        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
    2-8  as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
