No. 717 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The occasion of a 100th birthday is an exceptionally 1-3 splendid one and calls for great celebration, and so it was for 1-4 Vicie Bowden of Stephenville, Texas, on March 19, 1993, when she was 1-5 the guest of honor on her special day; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Well known for her charm, genuineness, and generosity 1-7 of spirit, this gracious lady is a beloved citizen of the city; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Blessed with a ready smile and warm nature, 1-9 Mrs. Bowden is noted for her liveliness and vital sense of humor; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Unusually active for her five score years, the 1-11 centenarian is known for her exemplary enthusiasm for living each day 1-12 to the fullest; and 1-13 WHEREAS, She pursues her hobbies avidly whether putting 1-14 together intricate crossword puzzles, working in her flower garden, 1-15 or viewing "The Price Is Right"; and 1-16 WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Bowden attends Sunday 1-17 morning services at Graham Street Church of Christ followed by her 1-18 customary meal at Dairy Queen; and 1-19 WHEREAS, This remarkable individual is truly deserving of the 1-20 long and happy life with which she has been blessed; now, therefore, 1-21 be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 73rd Legislature, hereby declare Vicie Bowden a treasured citizen of 2-1 her town and state, wishing her continued health and happiness; and, 2-2 be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this 2-4 distinguished lady as an expression of the admiration and esteem of 2-5 the Texas Senate. 2-6 _____________________________________ 2-7 President of the Senate 2-8 I hereby certify that the 2-9 above Resolution was adopted by 2-10 the Senate on April 26, 1993. 2-11 _____________________________________ 2-12 Secretary of the Senate 2-13 _____________________________________ 2-14 Member, Texas Senate
