    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                        Luther Lee Weinbrenner
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins
    1-6  with the citizens of Fort Worth in mourning the loss of
    1-7  Luther Lee Weinbrenner who died March 15, 1993, at the age
    1-8  of 88; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A respected member of the community, Mr. Weinbrenner
   1-10  will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his friends, and
   1-11  his church; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, A native of Macon, Georgia, he was born on
   1-13  May 10, 1904, and began working for the Central of Georgia Railroad
   1-14  when he was 16, beginning a career that would last 50 years; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, A dedicated and diligent employee, Mr. Weinbrenner
   1-16  worked for The Pullman Company for 42 years; he was superintendent
   1-17  of the Fort Worth district for 26 years, longer than any other
   1-18  individual in the company's 100-year history; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, A devout Christian and founding member of
   1-20  Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church, he took an active interest
   1-21  in its work serving as vestryman, Sunday school superintendent, and
   1-22  lay reader; and
   1-23        WHEREAS, Mr. Weinbrenner contributed his time and
    2-1  energies to civic endeavors through his involvement in the
    2-2  American Association of Retired Persons Southwest Fort Worth
    2-3  Chapter Number 4116 and as a member of the Downtown Lions Club;
    2-4  and
    2-5        WHEREAS, A charter member of the South Hills Masonic
    2-6  Lodge Number 1389, Mr. Weinbrenner earned the admiration and
    2-7  friendship of his associates; and
    2-8        WHEREAS, His wise counsel and sound judgment will be deeply
    2-9  missed and remembered with gratitude by the citizens of Fort Worth;
   2-10  now, therefore, be it
   2-11        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-12  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
   2-13  family members of Luther Lee Weinbrenner:  his wife, Constance;
   2-14  his daughters and sons-in-law, Dana and Daniel A. Dickinson and
   2-15  Janis and Edward P. Zwick, Jr.; and his 11 grandchildren and two
   2-16  great-grandchildren; and, be it further
   2-17        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-18  the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy
   2-19  from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day,
   2-20  it do so in memory of Luther Lee Weinbrenner.
