    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
    1-3  recognize Brother J. D. Hall who is being honored by the
    1-4  Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, on May 7, 1993; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, For over 30 years, this distinguished gentleman
    1-6  has been a pillar of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex community;
    1-7  and
    1-8        WHEREAS, This noteworthy man is a dedicated role model for
    1-9  many of the younger men with whom he has been associated; he has
   1-10  served his community with unfailing devotion for many years; and
   1-11        WHEREAS, A respected educator, Brother Hall is a successful
   1-12  businessman and well-known civic leader; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, His gracious manner and professional knowledge
   1-14  have earned him the respect and admiration of his associates; and
   1-15        WHEREAS, As a tribute to Brother Hall, a reception and
   1-16  dinner featuring a "roast" are being held in his honor on
   1-17  May 7, 1993, at Saint John's Family Life Center in Dallas; and
   1-18        WHEREAS, A scholarship fund named for J. D. Hall will be
   1-19  established by the Dallas County Community College District; and
   1-20        WHEREAS, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, whose
   1-21  motto is "Culture for Service and Service for Humanity," is
   1-22  embarked on a program that empowers the African American male by
   1-23  providing him with mentors from the age of eight; now, therefore,
    2-1  be it
    2-2        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-3  73rd Legislature, hereby commend the countless acts of service
    2-4  contributed by Brother J. D. Hall to the welfare and progress of
    2-5  his community; and, be it further
    2-6        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-7  Brother J. D. Hall as an expression of respect and admiration from
    2-8  the Texas Senate.
