    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Promoting understanding and cooperation among
    1-3  individuals from different nations enhances the chances for an
    1-4  enduring world peace; and
    1-5        WHEREAS, Founded in 1956, People to People International
    1-6  is a private, nonprofit organization which encourages communication
    1-7  among the world's citizens outside official diplomatic channels;
    1-8  and
    1-9        WHEREAS, One of the most praiseworthy programs People to
   1-10  People administers is the People to People Youth Science Exchange
   1-11  which creates opportunities for substantive dialogue between
   1-12  outstanding science students and science educators; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, The People to People Youth Science Exchange has
   1-14  selected Link Aase, Alvin Banbury, Michelle Belrose, Jason Davlin,
   1-15  Laura Gladney, Oscar Graves, Natalie Grosse, Christine Herring,
   1-16  Mary Jamison, Zachary Kemp, Lindsey Linebrink, Sara McDowell,
   1-17  Sean Rackley, Patricia Reese, Brandon Schaffner, Drew Schwartz,
   1-18  Brittany Waterman, Robert Wells, and Eric Zilligen of Austin to
   1-19  travel to Australia to learn about and study that country's life
   1-20  style and culture; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, These ambassadors of goodwill are eagerly
   1-22  anticipating sharing exciting new technical and scientific
   1-23  knowledge with new-found friends down under; and
    2-1        WHEREAS, Exemplary students and leaders, these fine young
    2-2  people are to be commended for their interest in the world around
    2-3  them; now, therefore, be it
    2-4        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
    2-5  73rd Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the participants
    2-6  in the People to People Youth Science Exchange Program for a most
    2-7  informative and enjoyable summer journey to Australia; and, be it
    2-8  further
    2-9        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
   2-10  these very special ambassadors of goodwill as an expression of
   2-11  high esteem from the Texas Senate.
