    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, On April 27, 1993, Hillsboro Day will be celebrated
    1-3  by the proud citizens of Hillsboro; and
    1-4        WHEREAS, Principal trade center and county seat of Hill County,
    1-5  Hillsboro is located at the intersection of two major highways; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, The center of a rich agricultural area, Hillsboro
    1-7  was established in 1853, when the location was chosen from among
    1-8  three prospective sites; the first courthouse of elm logs was built
    1-9  in 1854; and
   1-10        WHEREAS, This delightful town is noted for its many lovely
   1-11  Victorian homes which have been meticulously restored; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Home to several industries, the Hillsboro area has a
   1-13  thriving economy; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, This noteworthy town possesses superb recreational
   1-15  attractions, including Lake Aquilla and Lake Whitney State Park,
   1-16  which draw thousands of tourists a year; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The residents of Hillsboro are understandably proud
   1-18  of their vital and productive community; and
   1-19        WHEREAS, The warm and friendly citizens of Hillsboro remain its
   1-20  major asset; now, therefore, be it
   1-21        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-22  73rd Legislature, hereby commend the citizens of Hillsboro for their
   1-23  contributions to the State of Texas and extend best wishes for a
    2-1  joyous Hillsboro Day; and, be it further
    2-2        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
    2-3  citizens of Hillsboro as a memento of this special day and as an
    2-4  expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
