    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2                               In Memory
    1-3                                  of
    1-4                           Elizabeth G. Plum
    1-5        WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
    1-6  citizens of San Antonio in mourning the sudden loss of one of the
    1-7  city's most esteemed and well-loved citizens, Elizabeth G. Plum,
    1-8  who died April 6, 1993, at the age of 55; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, Mrs. Plum was distinguished among San Antonio
   1-10  residents for her contributions of her time and energy to numerous
   1-11  civic and school affairs; she filled her life with devoted service
   1-12  to her family and friends as well as the community; and
   1-13        WHEREAS, Elizabeth Plum was a native of New York and
   1-14  attended schools in her home state and in New Jersey; she married
   1-15  Stephen H. Plum III on April 4, 1959, and the couple moved to
   1-16  San Antonio in 1960 after spending a year in Mexico City; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, Widely recognized as a community leader, Mrs. Plum
   1-18  was president of the San Antonio Little Theater board of trustees
   1-19  and was a member of the San Antonio Conservation Society where she
   1-20  chaired the group's Night in Old San Antonio project; and
   1-21        WHEREAS, A dedicated supporter of the Republican Party,
   1-22  Mrs. Plum was a member of the Vista Republican Women's Club and
   1-23  served as precinct chairman during elections; she worked diligently
    2-1  in the Jeff Wentworth campaign for the Texas Senate as well as other
    2-2  campaigns; and
    2-3        WHEREAS, Elizabeth was a warm and caring individual who
    2-4  remembered special dates in people's lives and showed a sincere
    2-5  interest in her friends' families; and
    2-6        WHEREAS, She leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
    2-7  that will be remembered with gratitude by all whose lives she
    2-8  touched; now, therefore, be it
    2-9        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   2-10  73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
   2-11  members of Elizabeth G. Plum:  her husband, Stephen; her daughters,
   2-12  Stephanie Christian and Barbara Welsh; her son, Edward Plum; her
   2-13  mother, Virginia Graham; and her four grandchildren; and, be it
   2-14  further
   2-15        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
   2-16  members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
   2-17  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
   2-18  in memory of Elizabeth G. Plum.
