No. 770 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Patty Freemen 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the 1-6 citizens of West Columbia in mourning the loss of Patty Freemen who 1-7 died March 29, 1993, at the age of 59; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A respected member of her community, Mrs. Freemen 1-9 will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her friends, and 1-10 her city; and 1-11 WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Mrs. Freemen was born on 1-12 June 23, 1933, to Jessie Jeter and Hampton Shaw; and 1-13 WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife and mother who provided a 1-14 loving home for her husband and their sons; and 1-15 WHEREAS, In volunteering much of her time to the betterment of 1-16 West Columbia, this esteemed lady achieved recognition for her work 1-17 with the Brazoria County Historical Museum and the Brazoria County 1-18 Fair Association; and 1-19 WHEREAS, She leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment that 1-20 will remain cherished by those who lived and worked with her; now, 1-21 therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family 2-1 members of Patty Freemen: her husband, Norm Freemen; her sons, 2-2 Gordon Lee Freemen, Norman David Freemen, and Steven O'Brien Freemen; 2-3 her brother, Wallace Shaw; her sister, Mary Spurlock; and her 2-4 grandsons, Justin O'Brien Freemen and Steven Joseph Freemen; 2-5 and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-7 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-8 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-9 in memory of Patty Freemen. 2-10 _____________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the 2-13 above Resolution was adopted by 2-14 the Senate on April 27, 1993, 2-15 by a rising vote. 2-16 _____________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 _____________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
