    1-1                           SENATE RESOLUTION
    1-2        WHEREAS, Sonia Nicole Jones of Dallas has been designated an
    1-3  Outstanding African-American Freshman at The University of Texas
    1-4  at Austin by the Delta Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
    1-5  Incorporated; and
    1-6        WHEREAS, Along with other African-American freshmen, Sonia
    1-7  will be honored on May 2, 1993, for her outstanding academic
    1-8  achievement; and
    1-9        WHEREAS, A biochemistry major and a graduate of
   1-10  Skyline High School, Sonia posted a 4.0 grade point average
   1-11  for the fall semester, 1992; and
   1-12        WHEREAS, Through her hard work and dedication she has brought
   1-13  recognition to herself and her family; and
   1-14        WHEREAS, Sonia will serve as an inspiration and an example
   1-15  to others who are striving to attain goals they have set for
   1-16  themselves; and
   1-17        WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to commend Sonia Jones
   1-18  for attaining such a high level of accomplishment; now, therefore,
   1-19  be it
   1-20        RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
   1-21  73rd Legislature, hereby express its congratulations to
   1-22  Sonia Nicole Jones and extend all best wishes to her in her
   1-23  future endeavors; and, be it further
    2-1        RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
    2-2  this exceptional student as a token of the admiration of the
    2-3  Texas Senate.
