No. 794 1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure 1-3 in recognizing Dr. Peter Martin who was named the 1993 Noon Club 1-4 Lion of the Year at the Giddings Chamber of Commerce banquet; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Dr. Martin is well known for his outstanding work 1-6 in the Giddings community; and 1-7 WHEREAS, A gifted leader and community volunteer, 1-8 Dr. Martin is a Giddings Noon Lions Club member and an active 1-9 supporter of school groups, youth organizations, booster clubs, 1-10 and sports organizations; and 1-11 WHEREAS, As a Lions Club member, he has helped raise funds 1-12 for charitable causes and given of his time freely to help the less 1-13 fortunate; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Dr. Martin has been involved in activities which 1-15 include providing health-related services for children, sponsoring 1-16 services for the blind and visually impaired, and organizing food 1-17 drives for the needy; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Exceptionally dedicated and resourceful, Dr. Martin 1-19 is a hard worker whose concern for others is legendary; and 1-20 WHEREAS, A wise and exemplary gentleman, a respected 1-21 humanitarian, and a man of many talents, Dr. Martin has made 1-22 countless contributions to the Giddings community; now, therefore, 1-23 be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 73rd Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Dr. Peter Martin 2-3 for his many accomplishments and for the time and energy he has 2-4 graciously devoted to citizens of all ages; and, be it further 2-5 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-6 him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-7 _____________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the 2-10 above Resolution was adopted by 2-11 the Senate on April 29, 1993. 2-12 _____________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 _____________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
