1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION
1-2 WHEREAS, Birthdays are occasions to be joyously celebrated,
1-3 and so it was for Mrs. Maybelle Gandy of Hearne, Texas, on
1-4 March 6, 1993, when she was the guest of honor on her special
1-5 day; and
1-6 WHEREAS, This being her 80th birthday, she has been
1-7 privileged to witness events most of us only read about in history
1-8 books; and
1-9 WHEREAS, The blessings of her long sojourn in this world are
1-10 evident as she recalls tales of years past; Mrs. Gandy has earned
1-11 respect and friendship from all who know her; and
1-12 WHEREAS, An active and vital member of her community, she
1-13 is noted for her exemplary enthusiasm for living each day to the
1-14 fullest; and
1-15 WHEREAS, Friends and relatives of this beloved matriarch
1-16 gathered at a reception hosted by her children at the Hearne
1-17 Municipal Clubhouse to honor her in a manner best befitting
1-18 the event; now, therefore, be it
1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-20 73rd Legislature, hereby declare Mrs. Maybelle Gandy a treasured
1-21 citizen of her town and state, wishing her many more years of
1-22 health and happiness; and, be it further
1-23 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to her as
2-1 a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
